Welp, I'm a bit late with this, but kind of works out to let you know how the carpet is holding up 3+yrs later.  Fred came out three plus years ago to get measurements, show us which carpets were available and gave us an estimate.  Super nice guy, showed up on time, very professional, gave us a very fair price and set up an appointment for the removal of our old carpet and the install of the new carpet.  Day of install, his guys showed up on time and knocked it out quick.  We had moved our living room and bedroom stuff to the kitchen ahead of time to help speed things up, but they helped us get everything back in place after.

All in all, a great experience.  Three years later the carpet is holding up perfectly.  We did get it treated.  I've spilled stuff on it and the liquid literally stands on top of the carpet.  So weird. I swing a golf club in the living room and do get "turf interaction" with the carpet, no probs, thank God, cause my wife wouldn't be happy about that.

The reason I'm writing this is because a friend is looking for a guy, and I was like, "I gotta guy."  So I asked my wife, "How much did Fred charge, can you search your texts?"  She looked it up and was like,"We never Yelped him, I said we would."  So I said "I'll Yelp him and say he was great, his guys did a great job, and it's three years later and the carpet is holding up great."  ...if you're looking for a guy, Fred is your guy...and that's all I have to say about that.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Fred and his team are really great. I texted Fred, he replied immediately and showed up the next day. Was not at all pushy, he actually helped us find something that was less expensive than we initially thought. Very flexible on scheduling. Fantastic job! 
First off Fred answered my phone call right away and listened to what I needed done, texted me some samples, I chose what I wanted, he popped over to meet me, ( super nice guy) and take measurements, ordered the carpet I wanted which came incredibly fast, and it was installed in one day! 
All this took place in about a week and a half from our first phone call!

A Great!! company to do business with.  As others have noted you are dealing directly with Fred.  He answers the phone and if you have the measurements he can give you a good estimate cost estimate immediately.  He was very responsive and in my case came the next day, at the time he said he would be there.  He had a nice selection of samples to show me.  The carpet I wanted was in stock.  The final price was in keeping with his original estimate. His pricing was very reasonable. I didn't feel any need to get subsequent quotes. We scheduled the installation for two days later.  His two man crew came at the appointed time.  Very nice people, were quick and efficient in their work and the finished project looked terrific. Re: Fred Thayer Carpets - I recommend Fred and his team most highly. Fred himself followed up on my query right away. It was a small job (replacing a stairway carpet) but one that I needed to get done. I provided rough measurements and a photograph, and Fred responded with an estimate. He came by with samples, we scheduled a date, and Fred's team got it done in a few hours. The job was professionally done, clean up was complete, and I am a happy customer.

Time had come to finally replace oolder than we'd like to admit carpet and I was dreading the whole getting new carpet process. But Fred made it so easy! Responded with and estimate within minutes and set up and I'm home visit within a few days. He measured and brought really nice samples and sent us a formal quote the next day which was right in where his first estimate was. He said he needs to order the color we wanted and a week later the carpet was ready to be installed. They came out on a Saturday and were fabulous they were so professional and efficient -they moved our furniture in all three rooms  with no problems whatsoever. And the carpet is great quality! Would not hesitate to recommend. We had gotten a quote from Lowe's and they pricing was very similar but for quality of the service and product and timing! we are so happy we went with Fred.
